Public bug reported:
I installed gnome-schedule 2.3 from a deb created to restore a version of
gnome-schedule to Ubuntu, after it was removed without providing a replacement.
Normal user tasks have executed correctly, both in test mode and automatically.
I set up a system backup job to run gnom

I tried to install some dev software, and the first update blocked at

No console output available ... so I shut down software installer.

I really don't understand why this isn't a high priority. This was a
regression from Gutsy to Hardy, and regressions should be fixed as
quickly ASAP, in my opinion. When you break something that was working,
fix it!

No question this is a bug, one that should be addressed as urgent if not
critical. Creation and modification dates, and other attributes have
always been preserved in Linux copy and move, and to state otherwise is
ridiculous. Changing this behavior is disasterous, and it did change

I also discovered that setting up the launcher to execute

causes it to work correctly. I had previously determined that when executed
from somewhere other than a launcher, it also worked OK.

An update to my earlier postings: I now have all my systems running
Hardy, and have yet to see the duplicate usb drive icon occur since the
switch to Hardy. Something in Hardy appears to have corrected at least
the variation of this problem that I was seeing.

I have had this problem of unreadably tiny username and password font
sizes on Feisty and Gutsy, and now on Hardy. My system uses a 50" DLP

Suspend/resume isn't a consideration on this system, as I have never
done that. For me, it always happens when booting.

I have a similar problem that cropped up a few weeks ago. One week the
printer (HP2110) was working fine, then the next, after some updates, it
can't get to the printer. Same thing on all four of my Ubuntu Gutsy
systems. Oddly, I can print to it fine from my VirtualBox virtual XP

This is a common problem. I see it with USB drive that I keep permanently
connected, as do others. Here's a thread where
many people are talking about experiencing this same problem:
