Software & Updates >> Additional Drivers. I got a popup error:
pk-client-error-quark: Error while installing package: installed nvidia-
dkms-390 package post-installation script subprocess returned error
Same problem, clean install of Ubuntu 24.04. As with @robert-markula,
cups is installed both by apt (version 2.4.7-1.2ubuntu7.2) and as a snap
(version 2.4.10-1).
I'm not clear which one I should remove.

I attempted to boot with gfxmode on and without nomodeset, getting stuck
at gpu-manager.service/start. C-A- left me stuck at gpu-
manager.service/stop, so I used the sysrq keys to reboot. This time I

I've just been hit with this on a Thinkpad W530 running Ubuntu 20.04.4.
After freaking out, I did succeed in finding my way to a reboot by
entering and saving the BIOS. Then I immediately removed tlp - which is
clearly not a long-term solution. As far as I can tell nothing else is
using acpi-cal

the intel_iommu=on kernel parameter, but that introduced another error.

intel_iommu=on.
