I would suspect you have accidentally pressed the "Insert" key on your

(hardy-security and hardy-updates). I'm using Kubuntu 8.04.

Typing from Ibex Alpha 4 in LiveCD mode, I can confirm that the killswitch
still toggles wireless functionality, but does not toggle the light above

Shouldn't the value in the 'nice' column change as well?
A 'niceness' of -20 has the highest priority, but that doesn't make any
sense if you don't know what 'nice' means in Unix terms.
Maybe you could turn it into a percentage, with "nice -20" being "100%
priority", and "nice 19" being "0% prior
