alternate image. Using alternate provides a workaround. Not sure what
are the differences between alternate and live-installer.

I was just playing around with the settings of Xfce (not
monitor/graphic-related) and this bug hit me (again).
First I god a corrupted screen
After several months of testing Ubuntu 10.10. I now understand better
why the issue reported here cannot be reproduced reliably.
In Ubuntu 10.04 the following issue appeared (reported above):
- unplugging the power plug always triggers the lid-closed event.

I experimented to check the situation in more detail and made the following
observations:
Test: Xubuntu running live from the CD-rom.
Result: Flash runs well in full-screen.
Test: Installing the original (at releas of Ubuntu 10.10) Flash player.
Result: Full-screen Flash video works sometimes
I have exactly the same problem with Ubuntu 10.10 and Firefox - all updates
included.
This is a Samsung Notebook with intel Centrino and i915 hardware.
The problem appears with fullscreen Flash videos: Screen is not updated
anymore, anything else seems to work (sound, Esc).
The strange thing is

- verify if the bug is actually due to and issue with udev

I just tested with the latest updates (April 18th) and this is still an issue.
A look at the bootchart reveals that plymouthd is actually started very early
during the boot process (as it should). However the splash does not appear.
Instead I only see a black screen with a blinking cursor. Then
Since Caostia and innervision have the same issue I mark this bug as confirmed.
Since splash worked without problems on earlier versions of Ubuntu (e.g. Ubuntu
9.10, Karmic) and it worked fine in earlier versions (alpha) of Lucid, I also

The contrast between the text and the background in the selected/active
elements in the panel is still very low.
I suggest to use a brighter text colour (and maybe a darker background colour)

2.6.33 drm module since the problem already disappeared with the latest

I agree: the colour of all progress bar should be the same.
However the look of the progress bar in GTK-Tree view fits much better to the
rest of the theme (icons, window boarders) than the "glossy style" of the other
progress bars that is used currently.

I just would like to add that the "glossy" style of the orange progress
bar does not fit to the rest of the theme (icons, window borders). The
glossy style is one of the reasons why the progress bar looks a bit "out
of place".

Just a note: I installed Lucid alpha3 on my computer and with the latest
Firefox (delivered by default) and the latest Adobe-Flash-plugin the flickering
