This bug is still present in Lucid beta 2. Can we please clean this up
for Lucid? It makes kppp completely useless for anyone who doesn't know
how to work around the issue, which is just about everyone. Does kppp
really need root access for something?

I found the issue to my problem. It was simply that the PCM output
volume was turned all the way down. I guess the other apps use just the
master volume. I found this by running 'alsamixer'. I'm getting sound
out of flash again. Perhaps there is a way to set the PCM volume to a
normal level on inst
I have this issue as well. I've tried both the flashplugin-installer
package, and the 64bit plugin directly from adobe. Both have no sound
output at all. Sounds from the rest of the system work. I'm running up-
to-date Karmic.

I also can confirm this bug running Gutsy AMD64 on my Dell D820 w/
ipw3945. I've attached the output of 'tail -n 0 -f /var/log/syslog'
