Terminal window overlapping
I figured out a work around. Mine was being cause by my conky system
monitor, which calls rhythmbox-client:
exec /usr/bin/rhythmbox-client –no-start –no-present --print-playing
“%ta – %tt”
This just started with this behavior. I removed this line from .conkyrc
and the bug no longer presents.

I don't know what I am doing wrong, but the fix outlined above does not
solve the problem for me. After deleting the .pulse directory and
starting fgfs, I still here sound and the frame rate is very slow, about
1-2 frames per second.

I am running Intrepid and getting this bug for a 61 page RTF document
printing from Abiword. It prints fine from my Hardy laptop with the
same printer/driver/document. The pstopdf errror shows up in the
trouble-shooting GUI. Is this a regression?

After enabling Compiz in 8.10, the Workspace Switcher app puts all the
workspaces in the top row. Workaround: remove Switcher from panel, add
it back and it's fixed!

With the final release of ubuntu 8.10 the result of glxgears stays
around 440 fps. I can confirm that the message about "TTM" not being
available disappeared indeed.
Is there any hope the performance will ever go back up to where it was
in ubuntu 7.10?

Well, the graphics are no longer scrambled in 8.04 or 8.10. However, the
flight simulator does not work well with the DG965WH motherboard for
reasons associated with the X-server and the intel driver. Please see
bug #252094. Simply speaking, the frame rate drops to something around
1-2 fps effectiv
I just ran a test with ubuntu 8.10 alpha 6. Running from the CD-ROM
without installation I get glxgears to produce about 440 fps again.

The all_generic_ide line seems to work for me on Inspiron 530. It's
