I dual-booted this morning. True dual-boot, not wubi. And a clean

Just wanted to check in with some new info. I'd read some indications
online that this isn't universal with all Intel wi-fi chipsets.
I'd gotten around this bug with these directions off Ubuntu forums:

I don't have much to add to the original excellent description. Using

keyring prompt pops up, and I get the same behavior as described above.
I'm left with two choices. Cancel, in which case Ubuntu One says I

I'm running an Acer 5920 laptop. Wi-fi was good with 10.04. Recently

Asked about it in this thread:

I tried the work-around described, which apparently disa

I'm trying to connect with a US Robotics 5610B. I have two of them.
I'm an old hand at Linux and dial-up; have four USR 5686 externals and
go online daily with one or more externals. ISP is frys.com, it works

I just realized - there's probably no point in installing Jaunty to more
HDD's from the same CD that didn't produce wvdial in the first place, is
there?
I had Mint Gloria running on the test PC. Downloaded the Gloria .iso 3
or 4 days ago. It's based on Jaunty, correct? Here's the output:

Hi, feranick -
The installation was clean. I've heard of people having troubles after
upgrading, and I'm on freakin dial-up at home, so in the habit of going some
place with the laptop where there's broadband and downloading the entire .iso.
Then it's back home to burn the CD and install manua

I report this with great humility and trepidation because I'm not at all sure
it's a bug. Jaunty either doesn't have wvdial, or the package is broken. I've
set up wvdial several times on several different PC's over the last few years,
so have some familiarity.
Some update or another must have fixed this. I hadn't tried to use
sound in quite a while, but in mid-April played a CD. Both chassis
speakers worked. That was in 7.10. Updated to 8.04 today (4-28) and
get absolutely no sound from chassis speakers. Headphones work fine.

Hey, guys, I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place for this...never tried to
file a bug.
The Networking setup isn't working for me and my USR Sportster either,
but some of the problem is not mentioned here. I set it up as "Tones"
in the modem properties. Close and go back it's reverted to "Pulse".
