Just wanted to check in with some new info. I'd read some indications online that this isn't universal with all Intel wi-fi chipsets.
I'd gotten around this bug with these directions off Ubuntu forums: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- To disable 802.11n on this card create /edit your /etc/modprobe.d/options.conf file like this. gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/options.conf And add the following to it: options iwl4965 11n_disable=1 proof read then save and exit. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So a few weeks ago I replaced our old Linksys WRT54G with a Netgear WNDR3800. Then I went into the modprobe.d/options.conf file and placed ## in front of that line of code. That tells the OS to ignore the line, right? Rebooted, and the Acer 5920 Intel 4965 wi-fi chipset seems to be working fine. If my experience is any indication, then it appears to be a problem that affects some users with some routers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/812416 Title: Intel wifi 3945 slow after kernel upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/812416/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
