Installing Pointing Device from the software seems to make it work.
I still think this is a regression because I didn't have to do anything
with Karmic, it just worked.

I had Karmic installed and the touchpad worked. I recently installed
Lucid Lynx Beta1 and the touchpad quit working. It doesn't work on the
live CD and when I toggle the touchpad (fn+f7) I get a notification on
my screen that

had print to file create a .ps file one time, so I've never used it

I updated kate-kde4 to 4:4.0.3-0ubuntu3~gutsy1~ppa1 yesterday and I'm
still getting the same problem. It still wraps the quotes around the
file name and places my cursor after the last quote.

I just edited my ~/.kde4/share/config/katerc and removed my Search
Pattern History and Replacement Text History and it works now. The
problem was that when Kate creates the replace dialog at the bottom of
the window, the drop down is made wide enough for the longest search or
replace you've ever do
I put the wrong total down in my last post, its really 2560x1024. When
the window resizes it becomes approximately 1920 pixels wide, when it
alligns with the right side of my right monitor it still takes about 1/2
of my left screen.

Nothing has changed between these two screenshots, I went to open a file
and got the quotes, then closed the dialog and pressed Ctrl+O again and
got the second screenshot where the filename is selected.
