So how did it work? You just posted messages? Is there something I should do

This was not a rhetorical question.
What I mean is: Please do it the same way as Debian does it.

Thanks for the answer.
I understand the problem. Unfortunately, the PicoLisp amd64 base system cannot
be compiled as position independent code (i.e. the -fpic option of C compilers),
because it is written as a special VM in assembly language.
Is there no other way, keeping the core executable wit

Hmm, well, but that's too late. It is 12.04 (the "long term stable"

Hi Jakob,

Hmm, confusing. I've completely lost the overview.
Though I still believe the initial filing of that bug was correct. Just
that there were not enough people "affected", so nobody cared to fix it.
But thanks anyway! :)

OK, forget it!
It doesn't make sense to take the current version from Debian, because
the 64-bit version of PicoLisp doesn't run properly on Ubuntu. It
crashes in some calls to C libraries (e.g. dlopen()).
This seems to be because the Ubuntu libraries assume a stack alignment

Where is the problem? Is it such a big task to take the latest version
over from Debian Wheezy? If so, can I possibly help?
Also, can we avoid introducing new bugs as it happened in Oneiric?

Hmm, takes quite some time, it seems ...
As 3.0.9.7 is available meanwhile in Debian 'sid', I suggest to wait
another 10 days until it is in 'wheezy', and then take that one, as it
contains further fixes and improvements.
