FYI: I've upgraded to Hardy (over Gutsy, not clean) and bluetooth
continues to not work. The output of lspci is the same as above. The
wireless/bluetooth button does toggle wireless, but does not seem to
help bluetooth. System > Preferences > Bluetooth (Preferences) ... I've
turned all four service

If one unselects View > Show Menubar
then there isn't a way to get the menu bar back. At least it isn't clear to me.
There does not seem to be a keyboard shortcut either. It seems necessary to be
able to get the menubar back once removed.
Can this package be signed? As an automatic update in Ubuntu, it's a bit
disconcerting to be asked to install software with a warning that it may
be malicious code.

Similar (or same) bug as I reported yesterday (sorry). The problem I had
was a completely blank screen on installation of 7.04 on an HP/Compaq
nw8240. X Server could not find any screens. Fixed with a few lines in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf. I have no flickering.

Many times the HP/Compaq nw8240 laptop would shutdown on its own at
various stages before failing to start X. However, the most recent time,
I was able to edit xorg.conf and startx. This got me to the GNOME
desktop. Selected System > Admin > Install (or something like that).

modified /etc/X11/xorg.conf added 1920x1200 to 16 bit depth, changed default to
16 (from 24)
tried to run 'gdm' 'gdm restart' gdm-restart' 'gmd start' -- absolutely nothing
happens, back to the command prompt.
startx flashes the display black and then prints something like the message
