Strange to be notified for a bug I raised 9 years ago.
I don't run ubuntu anymore, just vanilla Debian. I am still using
Thunderbird and the issue raised here is no longer present.

I have just installed ubuntu-server 12.04 after a hardware crash
replacing a Debian squeeze server. One of my applications uses fairly
complex SQL with sqlite3.
Back in March this year, I was finding a discontinuity between the
results of my application running on the Debian

year ago and I am now back to Debian with a completely reformatted set
of disks

freshly installed kdm. I get the blank screen when I logout - the only
way to recover this is with ssh from another machine and then restarting
kdm. If I uninstall kdm and install gdm it works fine
