version doesn't work with my previous configuration (config and console

Well, of *course* it's easy to blow someone off, especially if you don't
stop to look at anything. so thanks for that.
My version of postgres that I attempted to install didn't come from a
PPA, I had to uninstall postgres-16 and postgres-16-ciient, in order to
make the upgrade go. (which I did).

I removed then re-added the ppas which had the warnings. After running
