No smspillaz does not appear to have any PPAs except an empty one. I'm
not aware of smspillaz having many performance bugs assigned to him, but
this one looks like it might be related: bug 882826

This seems something to do with Openoffice and Compiz. It just occurred
again with banshee not on, when I clicked on a footnote in my paper.
If I open in terminal, and scroll over a footnote, I get the following
in terminal:
