I have this bug in Natty Beta 1 64-bit, and using the terminal to
install with dpkg is not working either for Chrome. Should be 'sudo dpkg
-i name_of_pkg.deb' and that's encountering errors while processing,

The only solution I came up with was reinstalling the OS, not as a

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Natty Narwhal.
This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in

Fixed here by purging firefox*, a restart and a re-install of firefox
Returns to the normal working about:startpage window
