CPU scaling problem, but like Oliver it turned out to be a GPU scaling
issue (running glxgears made it go away).
I have found the easiest way to fix this is to

Here's how I solved this problem:
Originally firefox profile is not loaded:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor restart

I discussed that with Michael Biebl. We already have a hook in the
hdparm package which sets it to 128, and if anything below causes too
much trouble, let's just disable that particular hook completely. That

Hi everyone,
got a pre-owned Toshiba NB205 and installed lucid on it. No sound from the
speakers. I tried quite a lot, included the modprode-settings, still no sound.
Will this issue be moved forward? I can see that the bug is open since long
months already without a generally available solution.

It was Maverick testing bug - last qt4 and plasmoids packages updates
resolved the issue. So, it is more appropriate to replace "Invalid"
status with "Fixed" one :-)

now the run away python process is there as soon as I login to the desktop.
However, a sure shot way to start it is to open the preferences dialog and
close it.

I've installed the ppa from m0sia, and it works for me (Lucid x64).
I think the developers just want to copy the look & feel of OSX, since its
indicator icons also have a large spacing...but it is really a bad idea for
netbook users. why not just add an option for users to decide on their own??
The sound issue was completely unrelated and fixed by the very helpful comment
by Pistolpete in:

I've got Maverick on a Sony Vaio M111AX. In Lucid, I was able to
suspend, hibernate, shutdown and restart. In Maverick I'm not.
Early versions including the Maverick Beta would successfully terminate
my X session, and then init would try to switch runlevels and crash
after
1 - 100 of 1945 matches
