Again, opiepasswd does _not_ check the user id and act appropriately, so
it should _not_ be made setuid, unless that issue is addressed, as it
would allow any user to modify any other user's keys, AFAICT.
However, to address Thomas's comment: opiepasswd modifies an individual
user's opie keys, and
I think there's absolutely no need to further diagnose this issue. It
has been diagnosed, acknowledged and fixed months ago by the upstream
kernel developers. All you need to fix this issue for karmic kernel is

Thank you for your help. My Netbook has now synced fully, downloading
the remaining three files from U1 and updating the icons correctly.
I tried the same thing with my desktop, but it is still giving problems.
U1 icon shows the un-synced emblem. and one file has not been downloaded

In my case, with compiz enabled, the pointer theme changes only

Similar story. My crash happened when I was using the Ubuntu 10.04
64-bit live usb. I can test any proposed fix if it is helpful. Just let

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Can you try the
following and let me know the results?
1. Quit the Ubuntu One client. From the applet select Quit. Then open a
Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) and run the following to quit
the syncdaemon.
u1sdtool -q
It sound like a big latency to me as well. You could be suffering from
SMI (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Management_Mode ) in which
case there is not that much one can do about it (try updating BIOS). I'm
still new at this and learn as I go, so I'm not sure if 127 ms is
something that a
+1 for this feature
