@Martin: probably because you tell the system to mount it like that. I
suppose it's defined in a system-wide /etc/fstab and without any
specific option it will mount at boot-time as owner root (can't guess
you will want to use it as user foo). In all cases, that's a separate
issue.

RAID-6 array using 6 SATA drives for data. On top of the RAID is LVM. My
volume is 500G, mounted at /mnt/data, and uses an ext4 file system. When

seems to happen less often for me. The mythfrontend is non-responsive
to LIRC events only after every 10th-20th restart.

and 64bit version => don't see any reason not to use their officially
packed one (but I might be wrong :)).

Just a data point. On my Dell D830, temps would go past 90C with the

a. the sudo command is really only needed on step n. 2 (I try and stay away
from sudo and root as much as I can)
b. before step 5. you need to "cd glib2.0-2.22.2" to avoid the same error that

, i.e from jaunty, glade file, the rendering in glade window is messy
and glade looks like unusable.

I decided not to delete the patches in debian/patches, to keep them as
reference, and also to keep the diff smaller, and makes easier the
merge/sync when Debian will upgrade.

OK, given the problem was in cdparanoiasrc, and given that cdparanoia
worked fine (3.10.2+debian-8), I tried rebuilding gstreamer0.10-plugins-
base against that version of cdparanoia-dev (btw, seems the build-
depends are pointing at incorrect package names for the gir
dependencies)...
