I just figured out a way to sortof fix the problem...
Open a terminal and type "gconf-editor" (sans quotes)... then in the
list on the left navigate to / --> desktop --> gnome --> volume_manager
--> prompts... then change the value for "camera_import_photos" to "1"

I appear to be completely up to date on Postgrey and its dependencies as
well (running libdb4.4 4.4.20-8.1ubuntu3.1), and as of right now, it is
STILL broken as evidenced by the following:

I just recently imported photos from my canon a650 to my ubuntu desktop
so i can upload it to friendster.com but it seems it can find .jpg
files.
So my work around is to upload it firs in my multiply accound and
imported it to friend
