I should also add that the amount of memory leaked appears to be
(somewhat unsurprisingly) proportional to the size of the window.
That is to say, if I open and close a new firefox window, I see compiz
resident memory jump by ~10MB. With a smaller terminal window, it's ~3MB
as noted before.

As someone already said, the driver hangs on high network usage when
using a kernel other than -386. Of course the problem is that -386
kernel has no optimizations and not even NO_HZ :).

SATA HDD, there were no sata connections in my motherboard so I had to

I was trying to upgrade my Feisty to Gutsy after the official release
but the update-manager failed to set up package apt-file
(2.0.8.2ubuntu2). The update-manager had been freezing for an hour when
it was trying to configure apt-file. Then I had to terminate it by

Also being Canadian, I had the exact same experience. I reconfigured my
panel menu to use name only.
It was very disappointing to see a GUI mess like this come up on the
first boot of my brand new gutsy installation.

I have a weird config which show a problem where Xinerama is 'cloning' displays
rather than using 'right of' for the second screen. If I swap the arrangement
