same/similar problem - I cannot get any feedback from the system to give
any details. I have an ATI 9660 on Asus A8V-MX with AMD64.
I have been able to install i386 Ubuntu with some problems, but AMD64
install gives a blank screen and no output/action from CTRL-
ALT-F1/F2/F3/F4/F5/F6/F7/F8/F9.

I forgot to note in this bug report that I repacked the tarball and gave

I get exactly the same log entry. The authentication dialogue box comes
up, I type in my password, click okay, the adept window pops up and
adept crashes (just after the status bar in adept_manager says "Building
state information").

On further investigation, the Ubuntu-Feisty version of genisoimage (9:1.1.0-1)
running on edgy also does not have this problem!
I understand genisoimage is a fork of mkisofs now used in preference to mkisofs
in etch and edgy.

with "apt-get install ubuntu-desktop". I, too, find it horribly

Can confirm on openoffice.org 2.0.4-0ubuntu2 and openoffice.org-gnome
2.0.4-0ubuntu2 on an edgy (6.10) 2.6.17-10-386 system. This system was
originally a dapper system that has been upgraded to edgy.
Crash happens most predictably with a new, unsaved document.
Steps to reproduce:

I've also experience this bug twice, once on dapper and now again on a
fresh install of edgy. It seems to occur when installing the kde-devel
package using apt-get.
Following the instructions here

Maybe you could think to install a ntlmaps proxy. this thing is able to talk
to an isa proxy...
The way I see it, you configurate synaptic to access ntmlaps, which in turn
accesses your isa proxy.

With a 2.6.19.1 kernel, it doesn't disappear and it's very annoying.
