Not yet - I would like to install 6.10, but am not sure this would be the best idea if I can't even get on-line to download updates and packages! Any other suggestions? I specifically bought this new USR Sportster external RS232 modem to be compatible with Linux, so I am a (little) bit upset. Shame that USR won't let me use my WinModem card, that I used for years in this machine, under Linux. I am hoping to install over the holidays on another hard disk - I've got to install it first. I was hoping to have that done by now, but my schedule was thrown off by this inability get on-line. I've go DSL coming in a few weeks, and I would like to get Ubuntu up and working as a known quantity BEFORE putting the machine on an "always on" internet connection. Looking forward to hearing from you. Oh, and Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays). __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
