If I put an audio cd-r into my DVD drive, I can choose 'copy cd' from
the context menu but nautilus-cd-burner refuses to copy the cd-r with a
message like 'No medium available'.
On the terminal it complains:

There don't seem to be either "aspell-ro", nor "myspell-ro" packages in
both dapper and edgy.
I have set the language to RO during install and everything else works
OK; but the Romanian language is not present in the list of available
languages in apps like gedit, evolution, and others. After Inst
/var/log/syslog is an empty file and cannot be posted.

That is by default yes. It however, does use the default search engine
set in 'konq -> settings -> web shortcuts -> default search engine'
Try setting the 'default search engine' to wikipedia, go to about:konqueror and
search for 'linux'.

prism2.5 in this case refers to the Intersil Prism 2.5 chipset which is
actually very common in PCMCIA cards. This bug has nothing at all to do
with prism2_* (linux-wlan-ng) and everything to do with network-manager
not being able to cause a prism 2.5 chipset using the hostap drivers to
associate

when I insert the card just fine, it's just that orinoco_cs also gets
loaded and it always wins. Unless I misunderstood this bug was going to
be fixed by giving hostap_* higher priority than prism2_* and orinoco_*.

Yep. This wasn't an issue in dapper with the older g-p-m. It's all
g-p-m's fault. g-p-m sees both my batteries, and calculates the total
time and total charge, but shuts down on one empty battery.

Adding that section to xorg.conf does work around the problem.

I couldn't say. I reported this fourteen months ago using breezy. I do
not think I have ever tried edgy. I ran into too many show stopper bugs
with Ubuntu and gave-up trying to use it.

I am receiving this e-mail quite some time since I first reported the
problem. Since, I've upgraded to a newer release of Ubuntu. I no
longer have problems mounting and reading disks from the Zip drive
(but I have experienced some difficulty ejecting the disk once it's

To be honest, I can't verify whether this is resolved or not as my laptop
has undergone so many changes that this is no longer applicable (new wifi
card, new battery, new drivers, etc...)

Rejecting this bug for lack of information. If you still face an issue
with the latest Edgy beta, please file a new bug report with more
details - enough for someone to have an unambiguous understanding of the
problem, and enough for someone to guess what the reason for the failure
could be.
