I just noticed that in a hurry I picked a wrong package in the chooser (kernel
2.6.7 instead of 2.6.15).
I kindly ask an administrator to move this bug to the appropriate package or
close this bug and I will file it again under the correct package & version.
Thank you in advance.

I've filed bugs via reportbug. I've _never_ received a confirmation,
let alone instruction to use Launchpad. Frankly, one of the reasons
people will use reportbug is because it's a whole lot easier than trying
to figure out how to submit a bug in Launchpad (I've submitted about a

I can also reproduce this without fail on my Toshiba Satellite Pro

I experience the same problems, but I am not sure if it has something to
do with multi-heading. Like one of the posters before also stated, my X
freeze problems begun shortly before Dapper was released as final in the
end of May 2006. Since this time I get occasional freezes at least one
time a day

It seems that there is a workaround :
- For GDM : add AlwaysRestartServer=true in section [daemon] of
/etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom (it works for me)
- For KDM : Add TerminateServer=true in section [X-:*-Core] of
