So for my own sanities sake let me give numbers to the symptoms
Symptom #1:
CPU spikes, which over time, evenutally turn into a continual stream of user
and system time. Eventually the cpu will never spin down from MAX.

This isn't a bug. Ctrl+Alt+f12 is a Gnome hotkey that is the same as
Ctrl+Alt+f1 through f12. You can stop the beagled and not have anything
beagle running and it will still kick out of xwindows just like if you
were to press Ctrl+Alt+F12.

I attempted to install from two different ISO images, each burned to
disc several different times. Installer crashes sometime after setting
up the clock every time I try to install.

After upgrading to the latest kernel (2.6.15-23.39 right now), the sound
doesn't want to come back.

I also suffered the same problem. This problem was there in Windows
version also till 2.0.1. However, it was found rectified in version
2.0.2 in Windows. Therefore, I was eagerly waiting for Ubuntu 6.06
Dapper Drake which was to come with version 2.0.2. This problem was
found rectified there.

Update: seems like even if Network Manager (more specifically nm-applet)
says that no network devices could be found, I can still connect to the
network and do my thing.
I think this is because eth0 in network-admin is set to "Enable this
connection" and DHCP. Of course, disabling this connection
I'm not sure if it's a dupe or not, but I also get "an error occurred"
if I try to file a bug with a summary but no description.

version of GCC and re-upload to dapper updates. This happens every time
I upgrade openoffice or distribution. Actually in this instance I do
not even recall the apt command that de-installed OpenOffice, which is

figured it was udev but turns out theres still unmet dependency's when i
try to install it says broken packages i run sudo apt-get -f install and

I get the same problem on first install since today. Download seems to
be broken. I managed to install the plugin getting the tar.gz from
macromedia and using "sudo dpkg-reconfigure flashplugin-nonfree"
pointing to local directory contening flash compressed file.
