Yesterday I messed with my graphics drivers in Ubuntu 10. When I restarted the
PC, it briefly showed the Ubuntu loading screen and then went black. And then
it is stuck. I'd like to restore my graphics settings without having to
reinstall everything. How can I do that?

a guy I asked told me there was no such a thing as a safe mode on Linux. As you
can tell, I don't have first hand experience with that. :)
When I boot up Ubuntu, I don't get any kind of a menu. I had it in Ubuntu 9,
but it disappered after I upgraded to 10.
