আপনি যদি উবুন্টু ৯.০৪ বা এর আগের কোন ভার্সনের সাথে ইন্সটল করা পিজিন ব্যবহার করেন তাহলে সেটা দিয়ে ইয়াহুতে সরাসরি লগিন করা যাবে না। কারণ কিছুদিন আগেই ইয়াহু তার নিজের সার্ভারের ঠিকানা পরিবর্তন করেছে। এজন্য আপনাকে আপনার পিজিন সফটওয়্যারটি আপডেট করে নিতে হবে। পিজিন আপগ্রেড করার জন্য আপনি সিনাপ্টিক প্যাক

উবুন্তুতে পিজিন ছাড়াও ভালো মেসেঞ্জার হলো Kopete এবং Empathy aMSN ও ভালো তবে কেবল এমএসএন এর জন্য। ভয়েস এবং ভিডিও সাপোর্ট পেতে পিজিন এর সর্বশেষ সংস্করণ ইনস্টল করে নিতে পারেন www.pidgin.im এ উবুন্তু থেকে গিয়ে ডাউনলোডে ক্লিক করলে দেখবেন দুটি কমান্ড শেলএ ব্যবহারের কথা বলেছে। ওটা দিয়ে তারপর sudo apt-ge

Answers: 1. Yes you can upgrade your ubuntu 8.10 to Ubuntu 9.04 without live internet connection. You will need a alternate CD than the Live CD. Alternate CD is available from Ubuntu website. 2. By upgrading to 9.04 you will not lose your installed softwares. 3. See the link to repack and backup
