Hello all
I have a friend who is virtually blind and would like to migrate from MS
to Ubuntu.
He requires a 'text-to-audio' program to read his emails.
Does anyone know of an OS program which can run under Ubuntu to achieve
this ?

I don't know
Ubuntu has great accessibility tools such as orca for the gui or
espeak for the cli (which some blind users prefer) check out:

Also if you happen to be on identi.ca (open source version of twitter)
there is a very adept blind linux user by the name of kajarii
