Although I was aware of Skype and even installed it on MS Windows I did
not sign up. I felt no pressing need to do so. That means I know nothing
about telephoning via the Internet apart from using a similar thing

Oh, Ok. So, according to the last few responses, I maybe able to resolve
the problem with what I currently have?
Games? No. Unless, there's a 3D shoot 'em version of Sudoku. I have my
doubts. :)

No extra drivers/changes to xorg should be needed - intel graphics
should work 'out-of-the-box'. In fact you can probably just remove
/etc/X11/xorg.conf if you have created one.
Since you are asking this I'm guessing that Xorg did not load up
properly - what did come up when you booted?

If you want VoIP telephony only, you can make a contract with any number of
service providers - just look at the ads on the right side of your Google
mail screen.
Having Internode as my ISP I also have Nodephone, a VoIP service. Apart

Thanks Chris,
Just checking, and no, I do not have an xorg.conf file at all. Could this
possibly be my problem?
I don't see any errors when the machine boots-up. Loads grub, then the

Should I create an xorg.conf file, or could this ma
So what is not working then?

My problem precisely is that I can not get a screen resolution other then
800 x 600. On a 19" monitor, this is a real headache.
In Preferences > Display there is nothing detected and the only display
size listed to choose from is 800 x 600.
Anyway, I think this thing has caused enough stress. And

Hello All
I wish to run MS Access 2003 from within Ubuntu.
I own registered copies of the full MS Office 2003 suite and also XP Pro.
What is the best and easiest way to achieve this ?
Advice and experience greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation

Hi
I used to use virtual box to do this, which is ubuntus feeds (run
aptitude or synaptic and search for virtualbox). Although now if I was
to do this, i'd just use the kvm virtualisation thats 'built' into linux
by default. vmware is also a viable option I used to use in the past,
and still do o
virtualbox is easy. KVM is built in BUT will only work if cpu has
Virtualization support. ( Intel VT and AMD-V). So i would recommend
virtualbox.
