The non-free one can take components, not 100% sure about ActiveX
controls, though..
From the website:
Extensible component model - Use included 200+ app components, build
your own, download free, or buy 3rd party components
The Delphi Visual Component Library (VCL) is a full-featured and ever

Yes, only the professional version costs money and that supports all
components, controls, etc, exactly the same as BDS 2006. There is a grid
comparing versions on the Borland web site somewhere.
Hi Angus,
The Borland US Online Shop has Turbo Delphi (for win32) Pro $399.
They also sell the Professional Upgrade (I think for Delphi 7 and up) for
$460 or New user for $1090.
I heard that the free version couldn't take Active X controls but what about
the one for $399?
Thanks,
John

I'm a bit confused about all the Borland Hype on products. Is the Turbo
Delphi equivalent to the Delphi 5 that I am currently running? Or are there
some sort of restrictions that prevent it from using Active X controls and
all the existing library stuff including the twsocket code?
Thanks,
John
