I don't know if this is useful, but on my netbook the worst performance comes
from black and transparent overlays, like when the Terminal asks for a password
or when you want to turn off your computer. In those cases the frame time is

Did a few tests, dialogs with a black/transparent backgrounds are
definitely the worst (Terminal password prompt, shut down dialog, set a

1) Was not a clean build, i think we don't run it again for successive builds

parameter to work as it has a 'autoconf' parameter in it, which
indicates the type of "auto" configuration to do:

The biggest issue the libnl upgrade will fix are the following libvirt

I found a partial workaround. If you remove the account from online
accounts and then reboot. Then you can successfully re-add the account.
The account will work until you log out again. Then you will need to
remove/reboot.

I noticed this issue on one of the two computers I upgraded from xenial
to yakkety. Specifically the affected computer was an 2016 Dell XPS 13.
They're both similarly configured ubuntu installations with Broadcom
nics, so it's curious that this only affects one of them. I'm not sure

Yes, so basically we have:
- dnsmasq.pid (create + read/write by dnsmasq)
- dnsmasq.raw (read by dnsmasq)
- dnsmasq.hosts (read by dnsmasq)
- dnsmasq.leases (create + read/write by dnsmasq)
I'd be tempted to just go with:
/var/lib/lxd/networks/*/dnsmasq.pid rw,
/var/lib/lxd/networks/*/dnsmasq

SOLVED! It turns out that these issues were being caused by my SD card,
which had failed. (it was a Samsung, so I am glad it didn't explode 😉
