When typing numbers or symbols with spaces (ie after pressing the "?123"

Hi,
I'm trying to install a Ubuntu distrib for some days now. I tried with the
latest version of 14.04 then an older one (I think 14.04.1) then 15.10, always
in 64bits.

After my computer is locked for a long time, I am unable to get back to
the unlock screen, nor can I get to the virtual terminals. I suspect
this is an issue with nouveau, as kern.log has the lines:
