Looking at xenial, all tabs including Keyboard have this highlighting.
It may not be ideal, but seems unlike to get fixed. In artful (Gnome
Shell) those tabs don't exist at all, so there's nothing left to fix.

I've set this to verification-failed to prevent the accidental release
of the package because these changes do not seem to exist in Artful, a
requirement of the SRU process, and the version number of the package in
xenial-proposed is greater than the version of the package in releases
newer than Ub
I also have this issue. Running "alsactl restore" will allow sound to
come through the headphones without rebooting, but this is suboptimal. I

@vanvugt I do have both cable types (with and without cable mic). In
testing the Quiet Comfort 15s:
Bose CQ 15 w/ normal cable - The hiss is present with 0 dB headphone mic
gain, but far more reduced than the Sony earbuds. It is almost
unnoticeable. If I weren't trying to hear it, I'd miss it.
