I don't thing we're seeing many writes to that partition, most of it's
probably data pages being flushed out in the background so it's not

after running with the change for one week on my krillin i must say that
i dont really see any performance impact or any other bad behavior from
the change ...
it would be nice to have some upstart job that at least does an emergecy
readonly mount on shutdown/reboot like we plan for adbd "adb rebo
So just to re-iterate:
1. I believe the file system is not being cleanly umounted.
2. data=journal saved us from disaster because it works so well.
My recommendation is to keep data=journal because a user can power off
the device (battery death, pulling out battery, random kernel reboot,
etc) and
Oh and btw, instead of forcefully killing unity8, you can just `restart
unity8` it (unity8-dash will get restarted with it). Or to restart the
whole session, `sudo restart lightdm`.

I'm added copious amounts of debug into the kernel and a shim on umount
too and I can't see /dev/mmcblk023 being unmounted anywhere. Can you
inform me where to expect this umount is actioned on shutdown. I just
can't see it.
With full journaling on I'd expect this to cope with a non-um
FWIW, the package in utopic-proposed fixes the issue for me.
I'm not marking as verification-done, as I would really like for someone
else who is affected by this bug to test it also.

I'm using ubuntu 14.04 LTS, as well as tried to load 15.04 dev build downloaded
today.
Display showing black and white rectangles with some color noise.
When in switch to text i see errors from nouveau driver telling "PGRAPH TLB
flush idle timeout fail".
And i see it is happ

When parsing fields in a crash report file, whoopsie will reallocate the
value buffer when appending continuation lines. The current length of
the buffer is computed by pointer arithmetic and the result stored in a
signed integer.

An easy but not necessarily pretty fix is to revert the commit that
added greeter-fullscreen switching to the dialer [1]. It will leave us
with a black bar where the panel is, but that's probably better than a
jittering experience.
Of course a real fix would be better. Either make this change qu
