Progress...I got it installed okay in VB now.
I re-installed and tried 2 changes: #1 I requested no autlogin and 2# I asked
for 'check for updates'.
I also noticed in the LiveCD vsn running it couldn't connect to my wired
ethernet but it's fine in the installed system.

My problem #2: no matter what I use to change the timezone of the clock it
seems stuck on GMT+0/UTC gr.
As I'm in Engla
my timezone is set Europe/London the clock display time is stuck at
GMT+0/UTC.

Just installed on a HP 110 mini netbook,
Install went fine, however I had to switch off manually as that bit
didn't work. But that seems to be a power management issue, (I did
install the PAE kernel if that helps)
