this works! My problems seem solved athough i is rather cumbersome
method of start up. I hope that winmkeyer daemon will be integrated into
tlf and the command/settings set will be extended so it will be enough
just to type 'tlf' (or click an icon? :-)

Glad to hear that you were able to sort out the TLF-related issues.
Regading Winkeydaemon: you could try starting it with the option
-q $'\x09\x04'
This sets the initial message to disable PTT on Pin 5. I do not own
a Winkey device, so this is just a guess based on the docs.

The Winkeydaemon works also with microHAM DXP interface wich
incorporates Winkey 3.1.
I would have a request concerning PTT: would be possible to FULLY
disable the PTT? It adds some nasty milliseconds even if all se to zero
