Join us on irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting-1 for this important
meeting, wherein we shall determine the readiness of the Fedora 18 Alpha.
As previously announced last week, we moved Go/No-Go two hours earlier.

I downloaded the 64 bit TC6 ISOs. The DVD image checksum failed.
The netinstall CD could not find a repository to load from.
The DVD installed a Gnome desktop, but the resultant Fedora
refuses to start a graphical desktop.
I was finally able to install a Gnome desktop using pxeboot et al.

I currently maintain my local mirror with rsync:
/usr/bin/rsync -av --delete --progress --stats \
mirrors.kernel.org::fedora/development/18/x86_64/os /z/fc18
Is this the best place to rsync from to get up to date Fedora 18?
If not, where?

DVD also seems to be missing packages, xorg-x11-server-Xorg
(and possibly related). X server is not installed when desktop
manager is selected (tested GNOME and KDE).

Seems like lives are missing a few packages available on TC5 -
chrony causes 854899, also rsync is reported to be missing.

Hi F18 testers,
I was able to install F18/TC8 into VirtualBox using
Fedora-18-Alpha-TC6-x86_64-netinst.iso. The installed OS is operable.
Additionally, I made some issues you can read in

Unless yum "groups" have been removed in F18 I dont see how the term
"default package set" can no longer exist and no longer apply...

Hi,
we should amend the beta criterion:
'At the package installation stage, the install should show no
uncategorized package groups'
There should be something like 'Software selection spoke' instead of
'package installation stage', also I'm not sure if 'uncategorized
package groups' makes sense.
