Anyone install RH6.1 yet? I downloaded the iso image
and installed it here at work (fresh install on new
drive). VERY easy/fast install, except now the mouse
has gone nuts (jumps and skips around randomly - not
usable at all). It works fine if I boot to the older

Mouse was misbehaving in both console and X
The ps command returns
gpm -t imps
which is not right, since I switched to a generic ps2
mouse. So after reviewing gpm manpage, ran
killall gpm
gpm -t ps2
Now mouse works in both console and X (Yay!)

Working on my first resolution - to get a "real"
database system running. Our existing database to
date consists of bunches of flatfiles and directory
filesystems. Access is through perl scripts/html
pages. I would like to get a more formal database
system going (and moved from the old SUN box
We have run the yellow dog distribution on a G4 - it
supports all G3's I believe. I don't think there is a
free download though - you get 2 CD's for $24.95.
I can't find the link now, but yellowdog is based on
the ppc linux kernel, which I'm assuming is
downloadable. (anyone know a link?)
