[techtalk] More on parallel or serial?

[techtalk] printer parallel or serial? Can't install.

When I run PrintTool to set up a local printer, I get the error message that auto-detection can't detect and of /dev/lp*. I don't know if I can disregard it, as one can if setting up a serial printer, since I don't know if whether or not I'm doing this. Thanks, Kathy _

[techtalk] Printer problemss

My printer - a DJ500 - used to work perfectly. I don't print very often, so I'm not sure -exactly- when it stopped working, but it was probably when I upgraded the kernel from 2.2.14 to 2.2.17. I can't see anything in the changes file that is relavant though. I have the right modules loaded:
