From reading the docs, I know that lilo can't load
the second stage boot loader, and the error code of 00 seems to point to a
geometry problem of the hd? When I use a boot disk to run e2fsck /dev/hda2
(linux /), I get the mesg: Filesystem has unsupported features while trying to

I am using 4.73 as well but Mandrake 7.1 with kde and I do not have your
symptoms. A character set perhaps?

I did, but I turned the network off and still had the same problem...
IM starting to wonder if the isp changed something. going to try to use my
friends dialup to a different isp see if that works. wish me luck. ill let

Same here, with 4.73 and Caldera Open Linux eDesktop 2.4, so I suspect that
it may be something specific to Slackware 7.0 and this particular version of
Netscape.

Slackware does not release 'compiles' or 'packages' of Netscape other
then what comes on their official releases. I am using the glibc
Netscape.
