ghostview sucks; gv (ghostview that's been updated more recently than
1992) is _much_ better

IBM's are great if you don't have problems with them. once you have

"owner" is specified in /etc/fstab as in:
/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso966

a workaround for kppp is to log in as root and do:
chmod u+s `which kppp`
that'll make kppp run as root without you needing to type the stupid
password all the time. sure, it's not as secure, but fine
