You know what's funny? I never heard the term biscuit jack before this
thread started. Just today, I got my house wired for dsl (waiting for
router now), and the dsl guy installed a biscuit jack.
It's more wierd than funny, but in a funny sort of way.
Forgive my ramblings. I worked on a debian

Hi all! I've finally gotten off my tooshie and played around in linux a bit
over Christmas break... and have been having a blast. Bought myself a
RedHat for Dummies book with Christmas money, and am running RH 7.0 with
considerable success, if I do say so myself. That said, I have absolutely no

Hello,
I'm wondering how to send email messages that query the reader's app
and display as text if that's what you're reading with (ie, pine or mutt),
or display as html if you have an html-capable reader (ie, Netscape)?
Thanks,

Hi all, my name's Elizabeth. I'm somewhat of a newbie to Linux, and new to
the list as well.
I've finally gotten a new hard drive, and installed Redhat 6.1. Now it's
time to connect to the internet! I already have a provider...but I need to

I don't own stock in bookpool.com or O'Reilly, or work for them. I read
lots of ORA books and am always looking to save a buck or two on them.

I just installed Linux on my Hewlett-Packard Pavilion 6350, which is

encountered a few problems specific to this box, and documented my fixes
at http://www.zrusilla.com/hacking/hp6350linux.html. Hope this helps
someone.

messages scroll by? That's the BIOS splash screen.. The i-opener discussion
board at www.linux-hacker.net just had a thread about replacing it. Futzing
with your BIOS is a bit risky; be sure to back up the old BIOS image an
I use a Pipeline 75 ISDN router and I recommend it highly. It is a standalone piece

This neatly sidesteps the question of card support, and also eliminates any serial-port

Hi all,
I too have been a lurker (only a few weeks though) and am ready to come
out of the shadows...
About a month ago I started using linux regularly on a dual
