[Tagging] emergency bays - which side?

2017-12-31 Thread Volker Schmidt
The tag highway=emergency_bay as node is in use 3700 times, even though it is still only a proposal. How do I indicate the side of the road the EB is serving in the case of a bidirectional road. I could see two valid approaches: direction=forward|backward emergency_bay=right|left It seems that non

Ah, yes, that makes sense. I tried searching various terms but it seems I missed this page... Thanks! On Sun, Dec 31, 2017 at 2:45 AM, Volker Schmidt wrote: > highway=emergency_bay > > On 31 Dec 2017 3:53 a.m., "Andrew Harvey" > wrote: > > I'm mapped these as highway=service, interested to hear

[Tagging] lunch_specials or lunch:specials ?

2017-12-31 Thread Thilo Haug OSM
Hello all, I stumbled on a bakery which serves warm meals for lunch which is quite unusual (whereas it's common for butchers in Germany) http://www.schmidbeck.de/aktuelles.html There are currently 5 occurrences of lunch_specials on taginfo : https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=lunch_specia

I suspect I did not describe the situation well enough. The park is 2.4 ha. There are some fixed benches in some parts of the park and cca 50 moveable ones in the main area, where there are no fixed benches. The moveable benches line three paths in somewhat irregular intervals of about 10m. I suspe

I guess the problem is that for a bidirectional road it is not clear, which direction is oncoming traffic. On 31 Dec 2017 22:16, "Graeme Fitzpatrick" wrote: > > On 31 December 2017 at 19:47, Volker Schmidt wrote: > > How do I indicate the side of the road the EB is serving in the case of a >> b

You would have thought so. However, Albert Pundt's example is a case with the emergency bay on the left-hand side in a right-hand driving country ( https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2017-December/034494.html ). On 1 Jan 2018 8:16 am, "Graeme Fitzpatrick" wrote: On 31 December 2

Also replying to myself...the high camera angle is misleading, you're not getting over that ridge in a controlled manner; it's just tall enough that even my pickup (a Chevy C2500) will not clear it without high-centering (and breaking off the running boards in the process). On Sun, Dec 31, 2017 at

If I understand you right, that would be a case for `kerb=flush`, where the interface between the road and footways has no significant vertical displacement. On Sun, Dec 31, 2017, 1:15 PM Matej Lieskovský wrote: > How does this work with roads raised to the level of the sidewalk? > > On 31 Dec 2
