keep it simple and stick to one unit, in other words 14*12+1="169 in".
Data consumers can easily translate this, but it's more difficult to

First off, sorry it's taken me this long to respond to you (been out of town

I don't think the "relation:destination_sign" will work for this is because
here in the US, we've been putting what exactly it shown on the BGS's (Big
Green Signs) that the DOT's post for
removed addr:entrance and addr:room since they were too controversial
and changed addr:staircase to more versatile addr:unit.
