I haven't done much tagging of this myself, but my opinion would be to keep it simple and stick to one unit, in other words 14*12+1="169 in". Data consumers can easily translate this, but it's more difficult to handle the numerous methods that you've mentioned have been used. I also see some have converted feet & inches to decimal feet (e.g. 15.333 ft), but I don't think that's the way to go either, and likewise converting to meters like some have done also isn't a good idea. But what do I know, I've never tagged this! -Josh
