Hi Jaak,
You're new here. The Zefania/Haggai/True Sharp Sword/Free Scriptures
people are not. They've been "competing" with us for over a decade.
Their "competition" consists of ripping off content in violation of
licenses and trolling sword-devel. There's a program somewhere that uses

Might it be feasible to permit to define the variant delimiter markers

Hi Timothy,
I haven't built SWORD for a few years, and don't 100% remember how to build
it.
However, in answer to your questions, I did use Visual Studio 2008 Express
Edition to build for Windows as it was always going to match best with the
standard Windows Python 2.6/2.7 build.
I think I used a
Hi Jaak,
I've been around CrossWire for quite a few years without actually being

I don't have any turf to defend (CrossWire regulars: please chip in if I'm

Just a short question - and this is a complete aside for this thread - is
BpBible still maintained or not?
Also will BpBible at any time support av11n - even if there is no mapping? We
have more and more modu
Hi Peter,
Honest answer: I don't know. More details below.

Hello!
Hopefully someone can point me in the correct direction.
I am working on a New Testament written in a RtL language. The XML validates,
and as far as I can tell the OSIS formatting is correct.
BUT, whenever I generate a module using osis2mod, and any combination of -z and
-v (I tried them
Where are you seeing this problem of verse placement numbers? Some of the
frontends have problem displaying verse numbers in the right place with RtoL
text.
Otherwise, I think it is a problem with your text.
The verse number will be placed where the element starts. If you put a

Thank you for your helpful answers. I had been attempting to use
CMake to build a Visual Studio 2008 project and make the SWIG
bindings. Now I understand why that didn't work.
Also, I now have some more questions:

Thanks for getting back to me DM,
I see this problem on Eloquent, and PocketSword. Bibles in similar languages do
not exhibit the same problem. I have access to some OSIS forms of a few of
those and as far as I can tell my code is the same as theirs.
I do use … here is a sample:

It's not a problem merely with RtoL text. Se
Apparently, this module was created by an earlier version of osis2mod. Back in
the day, content between verses was assumed to be only titles. Those were
pulled out and placed at the beginning of a verse and marked with
subType="x-preverse".
The rest of the non-title content was assumed to be pa
When you run osis2mod it displays the version number. What is it? You might be
using a version that does not handle paragraph markup between verses.
Otherwise:
I think this may be solved in Bible Desktop, where we use arabic numbers so
they flow with everything else. Can you give that a try. You
