Ruby characters markup for Japanese text is properly called *Furigana*. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furigana So if you wish to learn more about it, you'll have more success searching for *Furigana*. cf. Searching for *Ruby* will mostly return results for the Ruby programming language. btw.
