My aim would be to hold only to Public Domain works, and only accept
copyrighted works that have been licensed. (Therefore, copyrighted works
would be quite scarce) Anything that is not public domain would have to be
reviewed prior to publishing.

In general I have found people who are careless about copyrights are also careless about the text. That kind of mitigates against being useful for spreading the gospel. At least in a substantial fashion. The abuses by copyright holders are well known too, but my experience with non-English copyrigh
All the Bibles are Copyright (c) - Jesus Christ, and it saddens me
that so many people infringe on this. This is a general remark, by the way.
