I've been able to build and run Stellarium with Qt 5.1.1 and Qt 5.2.0 RC1
on Ubuntu 13.10 Squashed Salamander. The only noticeable side effect is
some horrible screen flashing when I open a settings window, but it's
usable for development. Thankfully I don't suffer from epilepsy...

my feeling is that we need to wait for Qt 5.2 to be released to finish the
port to Qt5. It's only the matter of waiting for a few days now.
As you say, there is at least one issue with current Qt 5.2 beta, the
blinking in full screen, which needs to be addressed. I think it's a Qt bug

also we have crash Stellarium on OS X - night mode shader on QML just can't
work on OSX (looks like QtQuick1 already removed on OSX).

next couple points of regress:
1) Overbright light on the bodies of solar system
2) Stars under horizon will hided when zoom in scale of the sky (catched
right now - when added Nova Centauri 2013)

Hi
I only build in windows now as I can only get Qt5 to install on one of my four
computers that have Ubuntu 12.04 installed and on the one it installs to has
other problems.
In addition to these deficiencies I don't get
1. Sound. - Sound does not work on any of my compiles where version 0.12.
