Hi. I'm currently evaluating SpamAssassin for use in filtering /
tagging spam, and I'm curious to know how well it performs. That is, on
a given bit of hardware, let's say P-III @ 1GHz, 1GB Ram, about how many
messages could spam assassin handle? Any pointers?

It may be because it is a legitimatly constructed email, and not one
sent from a mass mailer program or anything like that.

I would like to fine tune my SA install. The problem I have is that a
lot of spam isn't listed as spam. I have a filter that moves ANY message

tends to help me filter all spam, but a lot of normal messages get
caught too, espe
I'm considering exporting all my spam to a txt file, and then feeding it
to spam assassin, but I'm not sure how.
I'm also tempted to do the same with the mails that are getting spam
points, but are not quite marked as spam.

Does SA-lean learn where an email originates, and give that domain a
higher score?

Is it possible for me to check if SA is being called twice? I call it in
my procmailrc but, I think maybe postfix calls it too, because it takes
an age for my email to be scanned

How can I turn off the above check? It's adding 2.7 points to my mail,
and making a look of my mail from yahoo groups SPAM.
Or instead, how can I add some email addresses to a white list, so that
they don't get checked for spam?

I want to setup a machine, with a sole purpose, of scanning email. All
email to be delivered to my domain, will be accepted by this machine,
and then, after scanning delivered to my mail server.
How can I achieve such a setup?

I use the MTA postfix, and I want to use spamassasin.

Thanks for the tip, I have made the change, but still messages which are
blatantly spam, seem to make it into my inbox.
Also, is it possible for me to setup a mailbox, so that I can forward
spam to it, so that similar mails also get marked as spam?

Now that my mail is actually getting filtered, I'd like to know how I
can teach SA, what I actually consider to be spam? I'm not sure how to
get to grips with SA-learn.
I want to be able to forward mail to an alias, and have the attachment
sent to SA-learn so that mail from the same people ends up
